About me
|
Daniel Aeschlimann, born in Thun in 1968, lived in Steffisburg as a teenager, where he successfully completed primary and secondary school and an apprenticeship as a machine mechanic at Studer AG. Hundreds of drawings and sketches created during this time and kept by his parents testify to his creativity and imagination. In addition to landscape and animal drawings, countless drawings of airplanes, trains, rockets and futuristic vehicles indicate his interest in technology.
As a young adult, he was able to complete training for his first dream job as a train driver at BLS AG in Spiez and was able to drive BLS trains through the countryside for a few years. During this time he acquired his commercial pilot's license and was employed as an airline pilot at Crossair AG in Basel in 1998. Due to the great professional commitment, there was little time for drawing and painting. In addition to drawings, the first oil and acrylic paintings were created during these years. After finishing his career as an airline pilot in 2007, exciting years followed as a flight instructor in the USA and Switzerland. He also worked alternately as a train driver for various railway companies in Switzerland. From 2015 onwards, the somewhat dormant passion for artistic creation reawakened. During several months of breaks in Florida, the artist researched various forms of visual design. Since 2018, several paintings in a contemporary, realistic style on aviation and other themes have been created every year in her own studio in the Thun region. The colorfulness and intensity with which his paintings affect the viewer reflect the artist's lively, curious and positive character. Daniel Aeschlimann is now working part-time again as a train driver at BLS AG. |
